Kelly's sore foot footage
Yet another of surfing's greats has been brought undone by a move being stomped by unsponsored 15-year-olds up and down coastlines the world over. The offending punt that resulted in Kelly's injured foot was an air reverse. Making it the second time a world title charge has been jeopardised by the move in as many seasons, following Parko's horrific ankle tweak (depicted in excrutiating detail here) in Bali last year. Though Kelly yesterday told Stab his injury was not as serious as the one which buckled the Coolie kid and he's "still in" the race. You will see the ill-fated rotation at 1min 51 seconds.
