Its not that bad, it was just one heat..Im sure nerves played a part aswell..He just needs to move more around on his board.He has the balls so if he stays at it he should work it out..
He is too far back when it starts racing so just slows down..Also slides out a bit through bottom turns..a few good surfs some where hollow perfect and uncrowded should sort that out..Also needs to pump his body more to get pop and drive through turns.
But he needs a few tips from a pro or good bodyboarder thats for sure.
Could help if he learnt how to pop a floater or standard air or roll off the end where he bails..
Maybe a narrower tail with a wide point forward would help.They go good in sucky waves and are quite good at NOT sliding out..But bad for moves, but he doesnt do any anyway.

And no im not a bodyboarder, im a shortboarder ex bodyboarder.

The only saving grace about this situation......there is none! He has shamed Mike Stewart's recommendation of him. It's comparable to the Poo's tennis comeback :)

For a sport thats supposed to be easy, Jamie O made it look very difficult! you call the guy a waterman he sucked out there! he was supposed to be doing the reverse of what Kainoa McGee has done on a surfboard(made the semis of a pipe comp and took down some big names after 2 years on a surfboard) and came up with nothing! He might want to practice before he shoots his mouth of next time!
