A few pics of the typhoon the other day. was on the boat when my boss buzzes up in the speedboat shoutin to head back to port something bout a huge storm coming.
1/4 the way back one of our engines goes bonkers and we're fucked, eventually turning round and limping into a small fishing village. Organise a bus for the guests, 45mins to an hour back to central hong kong, and ended up having to pretty much dismantle the junk in the middle of this typhoon, tye it up and get outta there. At this time it was a typhoon 3 (the typhoons go 1,3,8,9,10 increasing in severity)
Back home I live in the upstairs womb of a building, no windows and several feet of concrete all around, that night I felt nothing, but woke up to find the streets destroyed and images of massive floods and waves smashing up the harbour. During the night it peaked at a typhoon 9 the second highest before disappearing to a by the morning. the weather here is weird as.
Pumped cause I knew there'd finally be waves and cause people would've have canceled their junks, I call the chick that organises em all real early. "yes all cancel" (SCORE!) "but you've got to go fix up the boats, it'll probably take all day cause of the typhoon." (FUCK!) and just to rub it in I walk past a guy on my way home, carrying his board through central Hong Kong. Our eyes catch and he just smiles... prick
