Thom Pringle, Alex Left swirl, Sunshine Coast

Thom Pringle whistles his own tune and digs aerials. He can throw big ones too, like the backside huck pictured here at Alex Lefts on his native Sunshine Coast. “The banks have been really good up here the past few months,” says photographer Matt O’Brien of the usually-fickle Sunny Coast. “I’ve been trying to shoot at home as much as possible. I even got Chippa (Chris Wilson) up for a day! The first time in almost three years that he’s left Caba to shoot with me.”

This photo would be excellent even if it was just Thom in the frame. But, the fact that there’s a frightened logger in the foreground staring up at Thom makes it all the better. “I’m not sure why this guy is drop-knee, but its extremely amusing,” jokes Matt.
